"Every kernel counts!"
On March 26, 2012 the Gruver Farm Scholarship Foundation, a non-profit corporation, was formed. The purpose of the foundation is provide opportunities for higher and vocational educations for the students of Gruver Independent School District The foundation is also to provide positive motivational incentives to encourage academic and extracurricular success for all types of Gruver High School students. It is the foundation’s hope to attract families and students to Gruver. The Foundation Board leases the Gruver ISD school farm each year. The foundation than selects a lead farmer to farm with the revenue going to the foundation’s scholarship program. This process is only possible with the help of local farmers and corporate sponsors. The foundation will pay scholarships according to the Gruver Farm Scholarship merit point system. Each year the Gruver ISD Administration will provide to the Foundation Board a list of students and their total points using the Gruver Farm Scholarship merit point system. The Foundation Board will use the list to calculate the percent of available funds to be paid to each student.
